Target Group

Suitable for learners of all ages, aimed at those who may not have a GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths. The Level 2 qualification is an equivalent to a grade C for GCSE. Learners can use this to gain entry into University.

About the Course

Functional Skills are qualifications in English, Mathematics and ICT that equip learners with the practical skills needed to live, learn and work successfully.

 

The qualifications are offered from Entry 1 to Level 2. Suitable for learners of all ages, they're also a mandatory part of all Apprenticeship frameworks in England

If you want to prepare for your Level 2 Maths exam, you can pay an additional fee to gain access to Dynamic Learning which will provide with revision resources including an initial assessment and all the topics to be covered in the Level 2 exam

How is this Course Delivered?

All of these courses are offered  both via our online learning platform ElsOnline and Offline (Physical) which  are supported with interactive resources and webinars to cover the key topics where you can interact with a tutor and your peers. You will be supported throughout by one of our tutors who will review your progress.

We will do a full diagnostic assessment with you to give a comprehensive picture of your gaps in learning and then create an individualised learning plan to meet your specific needs, concentrating on what areas you need improvement.

English literacy

Functional Skills English Level 2 Content

Main Components:

  • Reading

  • Writing

  • Speaking and Listening - 

  • Learner must complete a presentation and discussion

All three components above must be completed and achieved in order to gain a full qualification​

Functional Skills Mathematics Level 2 

Main Components:

​

  • Whole Numbers

  • Percentages, Decimals, Fractions

  • Ratio

  • Area, Perimeter, Volume

  • Shapes, Space and Measures

  • Averages - Mean, Median and Range

  • Probability
