Teaching, Learning and Assessment
Quality Monitoring
As a provider of funded courses, we undergo regular monitoring checks and inspections. As such, we have rigorous self-monitoring systems, learner and employer evaluations and complaint procedures as part of the contractual arrangements we have with FE Colleges and our own internal policies.
✖
This is supplemented by an annual cycle of quality monitoring, corrective action, improvement planning and measuring outputs that determine our success and achievement against set targets and KPI’s.
It is important and essential for us that staff delivering our courses are aware of our company targets and KPIs as it is our ethos to enable and encourage staff to strive to deliver the best quality of education.
ELS recognises the value, importance and impact on our learners by providing professional development opportunities to all its staff, both teaching and support staff. This allows development in their job-related knowledge and skills, and ELS expects that with development and training individual effectiveness will increase, which in turn will make a richer contribution to the experience and success of our learners.
✖
Throughout our courses we set the following targets which are reviewed on a monthly basis and addressed in monthly supervisions:
✖Retention – 90%
✖Attendance – 85%
✖Success – 90% (of retained learners)
✖Achievements – 90%
The identification of skills needs is established through consultation with staff during monthly supervision, annual appraisals to review performance and targets.
All targets and improvement actions are added to the staff member’s CPD plan and reviewed as part of their appraisals and performance reviews. This ensures staff have the skills and experience necessary to deliver to the highest standard and meet the needs of learners and employers.
Our staff are "grown" into new or changing job roles. As a result we have a lower than average staff turnover.
